Most of our grandparents were creeping. Especially the ones that went off to war.
Some of our grandfathers were adults marrying teenagers they impregnated.
Some of our grandfathers beat our grandmothers.
Some of our grandfathers refused to let them work even after women were given the rights to work.
Some of our grandfathers had completely different families.
Some of our grand parents were in the closet.
This whole idea that black grand parents stayed together for the love isn’t true. The truth is black women didn’t have a lot of options and to divorce meant it that she would be vilified and more than often without a source of income in some states.  To be queer and black was also frowned upon so people hid it and stayed closeted.
If our grandparents could have split they probably would have, but they couldn’t. The same options to creep were there. They just had to go to those places physically instead of online.
Sidenote: Don’t ever take any advice Tyrese gives seriously. He’s like the ambassador for Fuckboy International

finally !!

My mums dad’s had a whole other family and one day brought home this child and told my grandma to raise him and that was the choice she had and this bastard refused to let her divorce him even after she left . There are many reasons my grandma tried to kill his ass. They didn’t stay together for so long because of love or there was no social media
Let’s not act like some of us don’t have uncles and aunts the same and age two months apart and didn’t grow up with the family for some odd reason

no one should listen to Tyrese for anything

i wouldn’t ask his ass where’s the best place to get a burger

IS THIS NOT TRUTH THO my latino grandfather left my grandma and their kids in Peru to come to the US to get papers so he could ask for citizenship for his family but while he has here he met another woman got her pregnant and was like “sorry never mind no papers for you” to my grandma and when they finally got papers from someone else he never let them get divorced and he never let his two families interactand then my black grandpa had so many side pieces he eventually got one or two pregnant I think if I remember the stories correctly and he didn’t wanna be with my grandma but he didn’t want her to be with anyone else so he left her but forced her to raise his kids and stay married to him like????

SMH foul as shit

why even grandparents are fuck niggas. like fuck niggas are the staple of abusive ass negros honestly that’s so disgusting on all levels

like…
my grandparents got married when they were still in barbados, and when they came over here, my grandmother worked so hard to support my mom and my aunt and my grandfather and then he just stopped coming home and was like “well i met someone younger and lighter skinned than you, so bye” and left her and refused to have contact with both my mom and my aunt until they were grown
like i was about six or seven when my grnadfather finally contacted them again, just to giveyou an idea of exactly how long he was missing for
and if i remember correctly, he had already gotten this other woman pregnant and decided to start a family when he was still married to my grandmother
like these myths about old-timey black love and black family structure that have been “torn down” by modernity are such bullshit
and idk can’t nobody tell me that image/text isn’t about the myth of black promiscuity, and the myth that black people are always creeping in relationships
bc it’s never about showcasing good healthy relationshops, it’s alwys about beating black youth into continuing the same unhealthy patterns bc “that’s how it’s done”

Legit I have an uncle that my granddaddy just brought home and said “we’re raising him” and my grandmother adopted him and raised him as her own. As far as my grandmother is concerned, that is her fucking son through and through.
He didn’t even know until some asshole who worked in a store down the street told him he was adopted when he was a kid.
Don’t think I don’t love my uncle or that I would change anything about the situation, but we can’t pretend this shit doesn’t happen, it’s more prevalent than you think and it’s not how it should be.
My granny put up with so much shit she shouldn’t have had to in the name of family, when my granddaddy should have just fucking done right by her.
I would also like to point out that I love my grandparents and entire family with every ounce of love I have in me, and that my love for my granddaddy does not excuse the wrong he did to my granny.

Same my grandparents were very unhappy. My mom tells me stories of my grandfather separating my grandma from her friends and being a drain on her. He won’t get her medicine

This hurts to read, cause it’s all very true. And many of us continue the Black American tradition of laughing to keep from crying, cause Black women are still powerless to change this.So you sit and listen to your mama and untees laugh about their dog ass brothers and ain’t-shit fathers.Nothing’s funny, but everybody laughin. Also, I’m with dynastylnoire. Mary Turner 1918 Eight Months Pregnant Mobs lynched Mary Turner on May 17, 1918 in Lowndes County, Georgia because she vowed to have those responsible for killing her husband arrested. Her husband was arrested in connection with the shooting and killing Hampton Smith, a white farmer for whom the couple had worked, and for wounding his wife. Sidney Johnson. a Black man, apparently killed Smith because he was tired of the farmer’s abuse. Unable to find Johnson. the killers lynched eight other Blacks Including Hayes Turner and his wife Mary. The mob hanged Mary by her feet, poured gasoline and oil on her and set fire to her body. One white man sliced her open and Mrs. Turner’s baby tumbled to the ground with a “little cry” and the mob stomped the baby to death and sprayed bullets into Mary Turner. (NAACP: Thirty Years of Lynching in the U.S. 1889-1918 )

Ratchet is a racialized term. So is ghetto. So is thug. So is welfare queen. Someone does not have to EXPLICITLY say the word “black” in order for something to be racist against black people. Speaking in flagrantly racist terms is one of the least sophisticated manifestations of racism today.

Please don’t expect me to always be good and kind and loving. There are times when I will be cold and thoughtless and hard to understand.
